” There is a cycle of love and death that shapes the lives of those who choose to travel in the company of animals. It is a cycle unlike any other. To those who have never lived through its turnings and walked its rocky path, our willingness to give our hearts with full knowledge that they will be broken seems incomprehensible. Only we know how small a price we pay for what we receive; our grief, no matter how powerful it may be, is an insufficient measure of the joy we have been given.” Suzanne Clothier.
The grief that comes with loosing a beloved companion animal can be so emotional and can feel very overwhelming. We can feel very isolated and unsupported as society misunderstands the depth of our pain and we are expected to return to the responsibilities of life right away. This just is not realistic, our reality is that we have just lost our constant companion, our loyal friend, our daily routine and witness to our lives. Our source of unconditional love that is so hard to find anywhere else, we have lost our best friend. This loss can be physically heartbreaking and emotionally crippling. Please do not be alone, seeking help and support is a positive step in the grieving process. Know that what you are feeling is normal and completely understandable. Your loss does not take from anothers but in your world the most devastating loss has occured.
At Peaceful Paws we are here to support your grieving journey. You are not alone.
